The Wrath of Adeline...

Sunday Adeline was playing upstairs and the rest of us were sitting in the living room watching the Vikings game, suddenly she quit responding when I was calling her name, so I ran up stairs to check on her and this is what I found...she was playing in Paul's room...well mainly with his fish tank.  I was laughing so hard that Adeline thought I was crying and kept saying "Mommy, cry. I sorry Mommy. Mommy cry." over and over again, it was so sweet that she apologized about what she did and she kept saying "Fishie hopital (hospital)" meaning fishie was sick! Luckily thus far Fishie is still alive and kicking swimming. Luckily for Addie Paul didn't find out until dinner tonight what had happened to fishie! I just had to grab the camera before Kevin and I cleaned up the mess. It was one of those moments I just had to shake my head about. And figured we'd get a good laugh about it when Addie is much older!

What we walked in to.

Yes, that is the fish food container floating in the water.

That would be fish food all over Paul's pillow, not puke.

Nice mess to clean up and lots of bedding to wash!

Thankfully Amelia and Paul were still at Grandma and Papa's when they happened, because I think Paul would have been hard to calm down after this. Thank goodness we had purchased an extra can of fish food when we got Fishie. Even after washing his bedding and vacuuming, his room still has a hint of fish food smell to it. Blech!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We surely did, even if it didn't go as I had planned. We were hosting this year for the first time ever, usually we go to my Grandparents or to Mary and Ron's. This year we opted to stay home and invited Mary and Ron, my mom, Tim and step-sister Samantha, My sister Amber, her boyfriend and our niece and Kevin's great-aunt Alice. Well Amber and Zane had to back out last minute because they didn't have anyone to dog sit for them, my step-dad Tim had surgery yesterday morning to remove the cancer from his colon and was extremely sore and unable to travel, but they are coming some time tomorrow afternoon. Alice called this morning and due to the weather decided to stay home. I was starting to wonder what I was going to do with 17 pounds of turkey. Thankfully I had knew by Wednesday evening that my mom and Tim wouldn't be coming until later, I decided to just cook one of the turkey breasts and then we will cook the other one tomorrow evening with my mom Tim. The meal turned out amazing if I do say so myself, I was pretty nervous about cooking it all, but it turned out great.

Here are a few pictures from today...

Stella fell asleep during tummy time and Addie thought baby Ellie needed to lay by Stella too.

Amelia just loves her baby sister.

Someone sneaked the who container of peanut blossom cookies thinking no one would notice!

She's really getting good at holding her head up during tummy time.

Stella's first Thanksgiving!

How to cook a turkey...

In kindergarten this year, they wrote how to cook a turkey and it was in the local paper this week. It was fun reading all of them. Kevin and I got a hoot out of Amelia's that I just had to scan it and share with all of you. They had it posted at school last week for conferences and she brought it home on Monday. I just love it! I need to laminate it so I can keep it forever so she can show her kids someday!

Twins?

Check out these pictures. The first two are of Paul at around a month old, when I was taking pictures for our 2006 Christmas card. The last two are Stella at about 2-1/2 months. I dug out these pj's the other day and couldn't believe how much she looks like her big brother. He had more hair, but they have about the same complexion and same hair color. Even the kids see pictures of Paul and think it is Stella.

2 Month Stats

Stella had her 2 month check up this morning, and I thought it'd be fun to compare all four kids looks and stats like I did with Adeline. She did great at her appointment, despite having to have 4 shots, poor thing has been kind of sad today, and fussy, which is way out of the norm for her. She hardly ever makes a peep, unless one of the other kids picks at her, the occasionally she'll let out a cry. I'm hoping tomorrow she is feeling better!

Amelia 2 months: 11lbs, 1 oz, 23-3/4 inches

Paul's 2 months: 13 lbs 1 oz, 23-3/4 inches
Addie's 2 month stats, 13lbs, 5 oz, 24 inches

Stella's 2 month stats: 13 lbs, 5.5 oz, 24-1/2 inches

First Snow Fall...

We woke up to our first snow fall of the season this morning. The kids were super excited about it and just couldn't wait to get out there and play in it. Paul was ready to go out at 8am. We ended up with about 6 inches. It looks pretty, but it's way too early for this!

Paul's birthday weekend

I'm a little behind on getting these posted, but you can still enjoy them a little late! We took the kids to Duluth for Paul's birthday weekend. We asked him if he wanted a party or if he wanted to go to Duluth. He chose Duluth, so we took the money we'd spend on a birthday party and took them to Duluth for an overnight, we would have liked to go on Friday, but it is too hard with Amelia being in school now, so we got up and left by 7:30 Saturday the 30th. We met my mom, step-dad, sister, niece, grandma and aunt and uncle up there. We got two family suites and it worked out great for sleeping for everyone and the bonus was we saved a little extra moola that way too!

Mmmmm, chocolate shakes...

Daddy was working late tonight, so the kids enjoyed chocolate shakes for dessert! Clearly Addie likes them on her pj's too!

Birthday Boy

We had Pauly's birthday dinner tonight, exactly what he requested: hot dogs with ketchup and mustard, mac and cheese and potato chips. I didn't bake a cake, but we put candles in the cake my mom had baked for his mini-birthday party in Duluth. I didn't think it was necessary to bake a new cake when we had over half a cake left from Saturday. He didn't seem to mind! I can't believe my baby boy is FOUR!

Big Girl

Before...

After...

Notice the difference? Amelia lost her first tooth! It's been loose for a while, but I didn't realize how loose it had gotten. Saturday morning when we were getting ready to leave for Duluth she said to Kevin and I "My tooth is very wiggly, I'm going to lose it on vacation". I said "I don't think you'll loose it on vacation, but I'm sure it'll come out soon". I did check it and it was pretty wiggly, but I didn't think it was wiggly enough to fall out. Sure enough Saturday night when Paul was opening his b-day gifts after dinner, she said "MOM! I lost my tooth", of course she wasn't sure where she lost it at, thankfully we found it on the hotel floor. So I put it in a ziploc and put it in the diaper bag so I wouldn't lose it. Last night we put it in her tooth fairy pillow, and I told her I'd call the tooth fairy so she'd know to come and she asked me not to call the tooth fairy, because she's "too shy for the tooth fairy". Also didn't want me to call tonight, so the tooth is still sitting in her tooth fairy pillow, awaiting the tooth fairy! The tooth next to it is pretty loose too, I don't think it'll be too far behind.
