Fall catch-up.

Fall was very crazy and very fun! The whole family went to the pumpkin patch for Cub Scouts, the girls thought it was fun to tag along to Paul's event and to be able to pick out their own pumpkins too.

During MEA break, we had a lunch date at Dairy Queen!

We had a Sunday night dinner date with friends, 6 adults, 9 kids, yes, we're slightly out numbered. We strategically placed all the kids at one end of the table so that the adults could all visit and the kids could talk with their friends as well.

Halloween

This was the first year each kid picked their own costume, so that was kind of fun, usually we guided the younger ones or picked the costume for them, they enjoyed getting to pick out their own costumes!

I spend the bulk of my days with these two loves. They forever keep me entertained, even on my most trying days. They love to play dress up.

In mid-October, I took a secretary job at church, it's just one day a week, but it gets me out of the house for a day and the girls get to go to daycare, Addie goes to daycare for the morning and then to preschool in the afternoon. Stella seems to love daycare, this fall was the first time she ever went to daycare. We are very blessed that we were able to have the girls go back to our old daycare, the last time Addie was there, she was 18 months old.

Halloween 2012

The kids got to wear their costumes 3 times this year! And for Adeline that meant 3 different costumes. The first time they wore their costumes was for Trunk or Treat at Grandma and Papa's church, we've never went truck or treating before, but it was fun for the kids, there were about 30 cars in the church parking lot handing out candy. Most of the parishioners handing out candy decorated their trunks with lights, as well as dressing up in costumes to hand out candy. The kids made quite the haul there!

Community Halloween party was held in our church's social hall.
Addie wore Amelia's super cute crayon costume that my mom made when Amelia was almost 4!
Playing ring toss
Dart game. Each balloon had a treat inside it.
We carved pumpkins this year for the first time since Amelia and Paul were real little. The last time we carved pumpkins was when we still lived in Montgomery. Paul was about the same age as Stella is now. None of the kids cared for the pumpkin "guts", but I think over all they had fun carving their pumpkins!

Halloween...before heading out trick or treating. This time Adeline was Princess Tiana from the Princess and the Frog.
They had a great time this year on Halloween and all of the extra festivities! We only went to about 6 houses in town and then I took them to McD's for a quick bite to eat as a treat and then we came home and passed out candy. Adeline is already planning what she wants to be next year!

How to cook a turkey...

Here is Amelia's how to cook a turkey from school this year. I love reading these things and can't wait to see the paper this week and read all of her classmates "How to cook a turkey" directions. Plus I thought my Granny would get a kick out of this too!

clouds

I snapped this picture on my cell phone this morning out of my dining room window, hence why you see the reflection of the dining room light. I thought the clouds were just beautiful and couldn't resist snapping a picture, but they were gone before I could grab my camera to get a decent shot outside, so the cell phone picture will have to do. I thought they almost looked like angel wings.

Trick or Treat...

We did Halloween a day early here in Mayberry. There was a party put on my the parks and rec committee, the kid had fun at that playing games and winning prizes. They even took us on a hayride which the kids enjoyed! After the costume contest, we took the kids out trick or treating, we only did a small portion of town, it was cold and kind of drizzling, so we didn't stay out too long. Our friends Ryan and Katie and their kiddos walked around with us too. Adeline really got into the trick or treating this year, last year she just rode in the stroller and obviously last year Stella was too small. Stella hung out in the stroller while the big kids ran to the doors and got candy, but she didn't seem to mind!

It's nearly impossible getting a decent picture of the 4 of them...

Halloween Party

Our neighbor Britny and one of the kids' favorite babysitters!
Amelia said they were twins since they were both nurses!

The kids event talked Mom and Dad into dressing up. Kevin dressed up as a doctor and I dressed up as a "princess" I wore an old bridesmaid dress, my white long gloves and a tiara. One of my daycare kids got a kick out of it. My batteries went dead in my camera before I was able to get a picture of the 6 of us together!

Jumping in the leaves...

About a week ago, Kevin finally got a chance to sweep up the leaves in our yard and he made a huge pile for the kids to jump in, with the intention of eventually burning them in the firepit, but there has a been a burning ban so we haven't been able to have a bon fire yet. So the kids took full advantage of jumping in the leaves. Even Stella got in on the action and had a ball!
