We had to get a new wash machine yesterday and it's now a source of entertainment for the kids. After I started the second load this is what I found...
About 6-9 months ago I noticed my washer wasn't cleaning as well as it should be. We didn't have the extra money to replace it then. So Gene called Sears because it's a Kenmore, well they wouldn't service it because we didn't have the original warranty, my dad gave it to us after he moved into his new house because he got a front load set. So we've been just dealing with it. It's gotten considerably worse in the last month and the final straw was on Monday when I was doing laundry and washing clothes we all got for Christmas, well it ruined a pair of my Gap sweatpants, a brand new shirt of Stella's and a new shirt of Adeline's. And when I say ruined, I mean there is grease spots from the washer because a bearing or seal or something was going bad. So far I haven't washed my pants in the new washer, so I don't know if they are salvageable. But most of the spots have come out of Stella's shirt after 2 washes and it completely came out of Addie's. And I can't believe how white my whites are! I'm impressed! We got a super deal on it too. We didn't have the extra money to buy one now either, the timing wasn't the best, but we've been selling stuff on e-bay for a family friend and the commission will cover the cost of the new washer...thankfully! Plus we got a super deal to boot! Mary and Ron went to Best Buy and picked it up for us as the only store in Minnesota that had one was Best Buy. Mary came down yesterday to visit and help me organize all the Christmas chaos and she brought the washer down for us.

Magnificent
This magnificent tree is kiddie-corner from my Dad and Mary Jo's house in Bloomington. It's gorgeous. You can see it from Cedar Avenue as you are coming up from Apple Valley. You should see the traffic coming through my dads neighborhood, it's unbelievable. The buses, limos, cars, etc. Sometimes he can't get into his driveway and he has witnessed stand-offs between two buses trying to get through at the same time. The Star Tribune did a story on it last year, but this year they did it all in LED lights. Quite the sight!

Christmas morning
Here are some pictures from Christmas morning and after Mass on Christmas Day. I'm bummed that I didn't get a picture of the 6 of us all dressed up after church, everyone looked so cute in their Christmas outfits! Oh well, maybe next year!

Snowy day fun
Since we got stuck inside today, we had to have a little fun. The kids went for a swim in the bathtub! The sure seemed to enjoy it!
More snow...
These are pictures from outside our house this afternoon. My van had only been parked in that spot from noon until 4 when I took the picture and the snow is quite piled around it.

Cookie Baking...
I decided to do some baking yesterday, so last week I had asked our friend Katie if they'd like to come over and help. Here are a few pictures we got from our day baking. We got quite a bit done considering all the extra "help" we had. I still have sugar cookies to make and gingerbread, but I'll get there, maybe later tonight after the kids are in bed!

Amelia and I had a mini-girls date on Saturday afternoon and we both got our hair cut. Hers is super cute! Mine is too, but I didn't take picture of it styled! Thank you Katie for making us beautiful! :)

Children's Mass
Saturday night was the Children's Mass at Church. Amelia was a cow, Paul was a donkey and Stella was Baby Jesus. All of the kids looked super cute and it's always fun to see the Children's Mass! All of our kids have played Baby Jesus, except for Amelia, I think we were out of town the year she was a baby!

Santa rode into town on a...
...FIRETRUCK! Rumor has it, the reindeer got hungry outside of town and refused to get Santa to his destination, so one of the members of our fire department had to go out and get Santa and bring him to town. The kids thought it was pretty cool that Santa rode around town in the fire truck wishing everyone a Merry Christmas before going to the township hall for all the children to come visit him.
I wish I would have thought to grab my camera a minute or two sooner so I could have gotten a better picture of Santa on the fire truck, but this works!

Snow day!
Amelia had a snow day today because we got another 6-8 inches dumped on us. So Paul enjoyed having her home and they had a great time playing outside in all the snow in the backyard! It's getting mighty deep back there!

Stella is 3 months old
Stella Kate turned 3 months old last week, so it was time for a three month photo shoot. I took these pictures myself. I'm still learning how to use my new camera, and some of the pictures turned out better than others, so here are a few of my favorites. I just love her chubby cheeks and am happy that I captured them in some of the pictures!
Hazel's Baptism
My niece was baptized this past weekend, so we traveled to my mom's for one night and my grandparents for the other night and got snowed in, so ended up there for two nights. The Baptism was very nice and the church was gorgeous. I'm feel very honored to be Hazel's Godmother. Thank you Amber and Zane for asking me.
