5 months of chaos bliss.

It's already been five months since we were blessed with baby Adeline. The time sure flies by! I love watching her change and develop into such a little person. She giggles a lot now, especially when Amelia and Paul are talking to her. She smiles almost all the time and very rarely cries, pretty much only when she's hungry! We haven't started her on any sort of solids yet, since our doctor told us we're okay to wait until she's six months old. However, last night at Target I did pick up a box of rice cereal, I'm thinking this coming week may be a good time to try it. If I'm holding her while I'm eating, she's constantly trying to grab my fork. So maybe she's ready for something else?!

I'm still nursing and plan to continue until she turns one, just like I did with Amelia and Paul. However, I've had a rough patch this past month and it's really made me want to quit, but I can't do that. Both Addie and I really enjoy nursing and the bonding far outweighs the pain and discomfort I've been putting up with. It would be selfish of me to just give up and take all the benefits and bonding away from Adeline, especially this far into the game.

Since all three of my male bosses know about my "condition", I know I can share it here as well. haha! I've had mastitis twice in the last three weeks. This past week has been the worst. I ran a fever basically from Sunday morning until Wednesday morning. At it's highest it was at 104.0 and finally Wednesday morning it was down to 99.5. I woke up with a fever Sunday morning, but by lunchtime it was gone and I was feeling better, so we went grocery shopping and our normal Sunday errands after Mass. Then Monday my fever came on around 8:45 am and I had taken some Advil at 7:00 am because my right side was so tender and sore. I fed Addie, took a shower and when I got out of the shower I was extremely dizzy. That's when I called Kevin to come take me to the doctor. I called to the clinic right away and was able to get an appointment for 10:30 with my regular doctor, this wasn't the time I'd want to see one of his associates that's for sure! The nurse took my temp at the clinic and it was at 101.1. She asked if I took anything and I told her I had Advil at 7am and she said "And your fever is still this high?", my doctor asked the normal questions to rule out infection elsewhere. Anyway, he gave me an antibiotic injection to help bring my fever down quicker and then a 10 day rx for an oral antibiotic, which happens to be the same one I took a couple weeks ago. So I missed work Tuesday and I worked the morning Wednesday and took the afternoon off, I was beyond exhausted and still feeling pretty crummy, so they allowed me to go home and sleep. Thankfully, I'm starting to slowly feel more like myself. I'm hoping this is the last time I have this...but that sounds pretty doubtful. Yay me.

Back to Adeline. She is changing every day. She's starting to sit up a little bit. Mostly with the boppy behind her in case she tips, but she's pretty good sitting solo as well. She's definitely stretching out as well. I'm starting to notice certain things are getting too short for her. She's starting to roll places and trying to scoot there as well. We'll put her in one spot and find her in another with in matter of a minute. She's a busy little lady!!

Learnin' to ride...

The kids have been learning to ride their bikes this summer. The past two summers, Amelia has had a disadvantage, since the driveway at our old house was way too steep to safely ride a bike on and the street in front of our house was a good size hill as well. So she hasn't been able to ride her bike the last couple summers. Now we have the perfect set up, there is hardly any traffic on the street between our house and the fire hall, so they have a huge amount of road to ride on (w/ us out there of course!). Paul is quite the little dare devil and rides his bike like a maniac while Amelia is more cautious! Here are a couple videos of the kids riding their bikes tonight. The video of Amelia, when she was riding, at the end she takes a big digger, but I stopped recording prior to that. But we made her get back on it and go again! We've decided though we need to get her a smaller bike for this summer, her Barbie bike is just too big for this year, she has a difficult time steering it, so hopefully sometime this week we'll get to Target or Walmart and get her a bike the size of Paul's and next year her Barbie bike should be perfect for her! That way we can stick away the smaller bike for when Addie is ready to ride!

4 month stats

I took Adeline to her 4 month check up this afternoon. Everything looks good, her growth is good, said her heart looks good, but we'll still see the pediatric cardiologist in October. She's growing like a weed and we're not suppose to start solids until 6 months of age, he said she's getting enough nutrition from breastmilk alone that it's not necessary to start rice cereal or solids, so we'll wait! She also had 5 vaccinations, 4 injections and 1 oral.

Just before heading out the door for her appointment!

Adeline's Stats:
weight: 17 pounds, 0.5 ounce 98% for her age
length: 25-1/4 inches

At least she can still uphold her name as "Chunky Monkey" at our house!

Paul at four months old:

Paul's stats:
weight: 15 pounds, 5 ounces
length: 24-3/4 inches

Amelia at four months old:

Amelia's stats:
weight: 13 pounds, 3 ounces
length: 25-1/8 inches

Baby Addie is 4 months old!

Can someone, please, please tell me where the last four months of my life went?! Lots of changes with Miss Adeline. She's growing like a weed! Her 4 month check up appointment is on Monday afternoon, can't wait to see how big she really is! I'll post her stats afterward. She is officially a rolling machine! About 2-1/2 weeks ago she mastered rolling from her back to her tummy and is now trying to scoot around the floor once on her tummy! She smiles all the time and has the most adorable laugh! She is the sweetest little girl ever! What a blessing she's been in our lives.

Amelia is done with preschool for the year, has been since the last week of May, it's just been a while since I've updated here! She really enjoyed her first day of preschool and is already looking forward to going next year. She will once again go to the Catholic school and preschool will be two days a week, all day, which I think will be great for her. It's been great to see her come out of her shell, she was pretty shy when she started preschool. Still can't believe she's 4 and in another year she'll be in kindergarten!

Paul is our active one! That boy keeps us hopping every minute he's awake. We've been to the MN Zoo three times this year and going to another zoo by my mom's house this weekend. He can name almost every animal known to man, I don't know where the kid learns it all. But a few weeks ago at my Grandparents house, he heard a wood pecker (didn't see it, just heard it) and told my Grandpa that he heard one. Where he got that from I have no idea, he's quite the character!

Last weekend we got the kids a cheap little slip and slide at Menards and they LOVE it, they played on it for FOUR hours last Monday when it was so nice and hot out!

I returned to work June 1st, we're all back into a routine and I can't get home soon enough at the end of the day to see my babies. I sure miss spending time with all of them, didn't realize I'd miss them so much!

That's our update for now!
