New cleaning lady...

As most of you may know, Adeline is quite the character. On Monday she changed her outfit several times. Between her and Paul I'm not sure who goes through more clothes, Paul changes randomly during the day too! She came up from the basement wearing these dress-up slippers from their dress-up clothes and she had on her Cat in the Hat, hat that my mom made for her birthday party. She had two dolls in her hand a play purse swung over her shoulder and see "I'm taking my babies to the doctor" and away she went, a little bit later she came "home" and started cleaning with the swiffer. Gosh I love that girl! She keeps me laughing! She kind of reminds me of me when I was a little girl, my parents and grandparents use to refer to me as the "bag lady" because I'd carry around a pillow case or bag full of different clothes and I'd always have the craziest creations on for clothes. I should see if I can find some of those pictures and scan them in!

Enjoying the great outdoors!

Last week we celebrated my daycare boy Marcus' 5th birthday. I baked funfetti cupcakes and we enjoyed them on the patio when the big kids got home from school! All of the kids enjoyed being able to finally play out in the backyard and I was able to get the babies outside too, which was nice for them to get some fresh air too!

Daycare activity

Last Thursday my new daycare girl started, so I thought I'd plan an activity for them to do, it kept them busy for about 15 minutes! They decorated baby food jars with foam stickers and then they planted grass seed in them. Everyone had a great time putting them together!

Here is Paul helping Adeline put her dirt in hers.

Sunday Funday

Not sure what he was doing, but he sure loves his new bike helmet. Between him and Addie neither of them will take them off outside even when they are done riding their bikes!
I know what you're thinking, nice redneck sledding...as part of the clean-up, we're still putting away winter things and taking out the spring and summer items. Adeline insisted that her sister pull her in the sled...notice she had yet to remove her bike helmet?!
Sweet Stella loves being outside just as much as the others!
I'm so happy it's finally nice enough for us to get out in the back yard again!

night light makeover

I decided to redo the girls' night light for their room. I originally made it about a year ago after Amelia's birthday getaway. Before:

After:

I'm still not 100% sure that I'm happy with it this way, but I love the versatility of these glass blocks, that it's easy to change around! I have a block that I got for Paul's night light too, we just need to find Kevin's bin of Legos from when he was a kid so we can put the night light together! Then I'll post pictures of his when I get it done!

Girls weekend

I headed to St. Cloud Saturday morning with my good friend Kelly for her future sister-in-law's bachelorette party. We decided to take off in the morning so we could shop, have lunch and do whatever we wanted before all of the festivities started at 5 pm. Our first stop of the day was Crafts Direct. I LOVE that store. The first time I had been there was a few years back when I was up their the annual Women's weekend with my mom, Grandma, aunt, great aunts and cousins. It's an amazing store and if you've never been there, you need to check it out. I could spend hours and hundreds of dollars there...I'd gladly take $500 to spend there any day! After that we headed to the mall for a quick bite to eat and then a little shopping. I had one store in mind that I wanted to check out, because they don't have many stores in Minnesota yet and it was Crazy 8, it's one of the sister stores to Gymboree and it's very affordable. I love Gymboree too, but only if I can hit a good sale and with a coupon!  One of my second cousins also happens to be the store manager at Crazy 8 and I hadn't seen her since 1998 when my grandparents had a family reunion at their house, she's a year younger than me, she happened to be working so it was a lot of fun to see her and catch up a bit while I shopped! Amelia had birthday money that I was going to put towards summer clothes for her because none of her stuff from last summer with fit because she has stretched out so much. So I took some of it along and got her 4 new outfits, plus a few other small things and she was so excited to see what I brought home for her! After the mall we headed to Shopko, to the liquor store for some wine to drink while we were getting ready and then to the hotel to check in. We stayed at the Kelly Inn in downtown St. Cloud. We ate dinner at Mexican Village downtown SC and then went to MC's Dugout, they had a really tasty drink called the Tropical Buffalo...so good and so worth every penny! Our last bar stop was The Red Carpet and that's where I learned I'm WAY too old for the bar/night club scene. I had a good time, but felt completely out of place there. We stayed there until a few minutes before bar close. We stopped at Jimmy John's for a late night snack, then back to the hotel to hit the hay! It was nice to get away for a day and a half. Thanks for inviting me Kel!

Family Movie Night...

Friday night we had a family movie night. Amelia got the movie "Tangled" from Uncle Gene for her birthday and it was being shipped to our house and arrived on Friday in the mail. She was ecstatic that it had arrived. So we promised the kids we'd let them stay up a little later if they ate a good dinner, took baths and got their pj's on then they could watch the movie. They all LOVED it. The three of them sat through most of it, Addie was up and down a bit more, she kept stealing "dessert", Paul and I had made individual monkey breads on Friday afternoon. When she was watching the movie she had her hand on her mouth most of the time laughing so hard. It was a great movie and I would recommend it to everyone with kids! Even Miss Stella watched part of it before she fell asleep!
