one week old

All three kids coming home from the hospital!

One Week Old

Today was my due date, hard to believe Adeline is already a week old! Addie had her one week check up today. She weighed in at 9 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21 inches long today. Hard to believe how much she's grown in a week! Everything looks good for Miss Adeline and we go back in a month for a check up!

Ready to go home!

Time to leave the hospital!
We got home late Saturday afternoon. We were cleared by both the OB and our family practice doctor on Saturday morning. Which was a huge relief, I was ready to get home! The nurse removed my staples before we left. Everything seems to be healing pretty well. I'm pretty sore, but as long as I keep on top of my pain meds, I seem to do okay. It's nice to be able to put on regular clothes again, or somewhat regular clothes anyway, haven't even wanted to try and pull out any non-maternity clothes!

We're all doing well. Amelia and Paul just love Addie to pieces and neither one can seem to get enough of her. Amelia wants to hold her all the time "ALL BY MYSELF!", and Paul wants to hold her too. He usually gets his time early in the morning when he comes into our room before Amelia is awake.

So far all she does is sleep. We haven't seen her eyes for more than 2 hours any day since she was born! Amazingly she sleeps pretty well at night considering she sleeps so much during the day! She likes to be awake between 1:30-3:00 am! Last night I got a little more sleep, she decided to give mom a break I guess! She nurses like a champ, which makes my life a lot easier!

Addie has her one week check up tomorrow morning with our doctor. I can't wait to hear what he has to say!

All is well at our house!

Oh, and the winner of the baby pool was Kelly! Second place goes to Sara. I left the link on the upper right corner so everyone can check out where you placed!

Last but not least...Congrats to Matt and Kelly on Rylee Marie's arrival! Rylee arrived Saturday morning, shortly before we left the hospital so we were the first to meet her! Weighing in at 8 lbs, 5 oz and 20 inches long. Now we're waiting for Shawn and Megan's baby girl to arrive. Funny that we were all due within a week of each other and all three babies are girls! Going into the hospital, Kev and I still thought we were having a boy!

Off to the hospital...

Here is the last of my belly pics for this pregnancy! We are headed to the hospital here shortly. Mary came and picked the kids up last night so I could have a quiet, restful evening to myself. We have to be at the hospital at 6:00 am for 7:30 surgery. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers that everything goes well.

Hopefully there will be an update with pics tonight! I'll try and have either Kevin do it or have Mary do it tonight while she's here w/ A&P!

t minus 7 days...

It's hard to believe, a week from today, we'll have our newest little bundle of joy in our arms! I can hardly wait. I'm getting really anxious all of a sudden! I have two days of work left before maternity leave and I'm sure next Monday and Tuesday will be full of running around and making sure things are done around here, though I'm sure Mary will do a wonderful job holding down the fort with Amelia and Paul. The kids seem to be getting excited too. I think it's so hard for them to grasp just what is going on and when is this baby you've been talking about for months going to be here?! Friday we have an appointment w/ our OB, hopefully when we leave that appointment we'll have an idea of what time my surgery will be and what time we'll have to report to the hospital! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers this next week. Pray that the surgery goes well and that we have a safe and healthy delivery! Stay tuned...

Ice Fishing

We took the kids ice fishing on Saturday afternoon. Here are a few pictures from the event! It was definitely interesting and needless to say we weren't out there too long. I think we were in the fish house for about 20 minutes when Paul stands up and announced that he wanted to go shopping. Then he continued to reel in his line, saying he caught a fishie (his minnow) and that the fish was going to bite him. Some where along the lines he managed to tangle his line. Amelia was more interested in drinking the "chocolate coffee" aka hot cocoa. But it was a family outing none the less!

36 weeks down, 3 more to go!

Wow! Thirty-six weeks have passed. Crazy. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by. Now in less than 3 weeks we get to meet our newest addition to our family, I can hardly wait. Tonight while Kevin was at church teaching his religion class, the kids and I were putting things away in the nursery. It was so much fun, they were both so interested in everything. They were helping me fold the towels, wash cloths and burp cloths. And asking a million questions. Then they discovered the basketful of baby toys and proceeded to dump the entire basket out and play with them all. Kevin came home and asked what happened in the nursery! All I could say was "What do you think?!" Oh well, they had a good time after all!

While we were sitting there putting things away, I asked the kids again what they thought we were having. Amelia said "A baby brother" and Paul said "A baby sister." Can't wait to see who is right. For the longest time they were both saying baby sister.

Here is my 36 week picture....

According to my babycenter.com weekly pregnancy e-mail, the baby weighs approximately 6 pounds and is gaining an ounce a day and is more than 18-1/2 inches long. Also baby should be head down at this point, in my case, it really doesn't matter. But I'm almost positive he/she is head down, because when they get hiccups I feel it more towards the bottom of my stomach! Next week (37 weeks) baby will be considered full term. But as we all know, baby will be coming at week 39...we hope! I don't want baby to come any sooner. The closer I can go to my due date the better. They say the closer to your due date baby is born the better off the baby is health wise, etc. And 39 weeks is the soonest most OB's will perform a c-section, unless medically necessary.

I'm now on to weekly doctor visits. I have an appointment in the morning. Hoping all goes well!

Looking at this picture...Kevin and I are both thinking it's a boy!
